Quality & Standards
Quality begins before the shipment.
Spice quality is decided early — at harvest, drying and sorting — and protected by packaging. Our approach is to agree the specification in writing, check lots against it, and pack for the route.
Where a buyer needs laboratory testing, reports can be arranged from accredited labs on request.
What we check
- 01
Sourcing
Origin is confirmed before purchase. We prefer growing regions and suppliers we can return to.
- 02
Sorting & cleaning
Stones, stems, dust and light material are removed before grading.
- 03
Grading
Lots are graded against the specification agreed with the buyer — size, density or colour as relevant.
- 04
Moisture
Dried spices are checked for moisture before packing, because excess moisture is the most common cause of spoilage in transit.
- 05
Packaging
Packaging is selected to suit the spice, the route and the buyer's storage conditions.
- 06
Documentation
Each shipment carries the documents agreed with the buyer. Test reports can be arranged on request.
